“The idea of 3 and 4 year olds learning chess seemed like a good idea but I never really believed that the kids 'learned' the game — I am happy to say that I truly believe now!

When I told my daughter Savannah that her dad knows how to play chess, she was so excited to challenge him to a game of chess. He was tickled by the idea and he began to test her knowledge. I could not contain myself as this little person sat there telling her dad the names of all the pieces and demonstrating how each piece moves.  She actually used the word ‘captured’ — talk about great vocabulary. I wanted to share this, since I know lots of times parents don't say ‘Thank You,’ the inclusion of this activity has enriched her learning so much.
